Gifted Tuesday

Last night we continued our Bible study and book discussion of 1000 Gifts: A Dare to Live Fully Right Where You Are. Did you get your copy or ebook yet? I highly recommend that you do!

Last night we discussed (for close to 3 hours!) Colossians 3 and Chapters 3 and 4 of the book.
Chapter 3 is about making the change to be purposely thankful. It takes intention. This is when the Author starts her Journal. She writes down gifts she already has, not gifts she wants. She talks about learning contentment. Learning thankfulness. Good stuff!
Chapter 4 is my favorite chapter, so far. It's about time. How we spend our time. Why we think we don't have enough time. Why do we rush through life like we're being chased? Consider everything we miss out on because we're rushing. What do we accomplish by being in a hurry? What are we really late for? Think about everything that we could be and should be thankful for, but we missed it because we're running late and barking at the kids or hubby because they're lolly-gagging and you're all gonna be late for... what? The author challenges you to slow down to ponder and be truly thankful for everything in that moment. She reminds us that God is I Am. Not "I will be, when you finally get here". (Although He'll be that too). Be here. Now.
