Funeral

We will be traveling to Hays this weekend for the funeral of Jeremy's cousin. As I briefly posted earlier in the week, he committed suicide. Since that post I've discovered more on the events that took place. Apparently he called his wife (they were in the process of a divorce) at 2:00 a.m. telling her what his plans were. She called the police. There was a 9 hour "stand-off" that ended with Brian taking his own life.

The wake will be Friday night. I don't think we'll make it for that - we are going to drive part way to Lincoln and stay with an old friend of Jeremy's and then go the rest of the way Saturday morning for the funeral.

Please pray for this family. Brian was a recovering drug addict and has been traveling a hard road over the past several years. This family as a whole has had to deal with 'this' too much - Jeremy lost a cousin several years ago when a gun accidentally discharged; another cousin just two years ago to a car accident and now Brian. My mother-in-law is one of six siblings - now three of them have lost children. Very, very sad. It will be a long, emotional weekend, so pray that I have patience with... everyone and pray that God will be present to comfort the family.
